Arizona Artists Guild shows at Art on
Boston

"After the Ball," acrylic by AAG member Pat Beans of Chandler is one
of more than 30 pieces of art
that is on display at Art on Boston through September.
Members of the
statewide Arizona Artists Guild (AAG), a nonprofit organization
founded in 1928, will show their work at Art on Boston Gallery during
the month of September. A reception for artists will be held from 7 to
9 p.m. Sat. Sept. 8 which is free and open to the public.
“Esprit de art” is
the name of the show curated by Gallery owners Wendy Fallon and Laurie
Fagen which will run through September 30. There will be cash and
other awards given.
The goals of AAG are
to provide and promote opportunities in the visual arts through
exhibitions, educational and outreach programs. Members include
professional as well as aspiring artists in a variety of mediums. The
group holds monthly meetings, which include critique sessions, and
offer workshops, college scholarships and regular member exhibitions.
In addition, Art on
Boston’s Featured Artist of the Week continues through September, with
jeweler Mary Snyder on Sept. 9; painter Sandra Neumann Wilderman on
Sept. 23; and jewelry maker Deb Jennings on Sept. 30. Tickets can be
purchased for a chance to win donated artwork through the week, and
the artists demonstrate and talk about their art each Sunday from 2 to
4 p.m. The drawing is held on Sundays at 4 p.m., and presence is not
required to win. Part of the proceeds go to Free Arts of Arizona, an
arts program for homeless children. For information on AAG,
